Oaty Fruity Cereal

A nutritious and delicious breakfast is the best way to start your day in a positive way. I know two ways to serve it but feel free to think up your own ideas.

  • Make a big batch of healthy cereal, then store it in an airtight container for up to four weeks.

Ingredients

- 100 g of dried fruit, such as sultanas, raisins, dried apricots;- 50 g of mixed unsalted nuts, such as almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts;- 50 g of mixed seeds, such as pumpkin, sunflower, sesame, poppy;- 400 g of porridge oats;- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, optional;- milk or natural yogurt, to serve,
Bircher muesli (for 4 persons):- 1 apple;- roughly 400 ml of milk;- organic honey for dressing.

01. To make the basic cereal, roughly chop any larger dried fruit and nuts, then place into a large bowl along with the seeds, oats, and cinnamon (if using).

02. Tip into an airtight container.

03. Now you have two choices. To serve your cereal as it is, place a handful of cereal (roughly 50 g) per person into your serving bowls.

04. Add milk or natural yogurt and chopped fresh fruit, if you like, then serve.

05. To make bircher muesli for 4 people, add 200 g of the cereal to a large bowl.

06. Place a box grater on a board, then coarsely grate the apple, discarding the core. Add it to your oaty cereal.

07. Pour over enough milk to cover, then mix well.

08. Cover the bowl with clingfilm, then pop in the fridge to soak overnight.

09. When you’re ready to eat, give the bircher a good stir, divide between your bowls, then serve with chopped fresh fruit, if you like.
